Baseball Recap: El Dorado Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Americas, El Dorado was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Bel Air Highlanders 4-2. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Aztecs as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Michael Bernal spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because El Dorado is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-14-1 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sebastian Rodriguez, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run. Another player making a difference was Christian Diaz, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

El Dorado's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-15-1. As for Bel Air, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-7.

El Dorado will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Highlanders: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
