Baseball Recap: Roosevelt Has No Trouble Against Eastside

Roosevelt picked up another tournament win on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 17-1 margin over the Eastside Lions. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Jaden Simpson looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Roosevelt got a massive performance out of Braden Annett, who went 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and two RBI. The dominant performance gave Annett a new career-high in runs. Brandon Lucas was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3.

Roosevelt always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eastside only posted an OBP of .286.

Roosevelt's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Eastside, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Roosevelt wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 7-3 win against Apple Valley on the 21st. As for Eastside, they have also already played their next matchup, a 7-1 defeat against Silverado on the 21st.
