After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last four matches, Poth finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They came up short against the Goliad Tigers, falling 10-2. The Pirates' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Poth saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bella Serna, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Poth's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Goliad, their win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-3.

Poth and Goliad should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Pirates will square off against Stockdale at 6:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (539 vs. 1101). Meanwhile, Goliad (ranked 283rd) will meet Karnes City (ranked 902nd) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
