Softball Recap: Saturday's Loss Ends Milano's Winning Streak

After flying high against Somerville on Friday, Milano came back down to earth. The Milano Eagles came up short against the McGregor Bulldogs on Saturday, falling 8-1. The Eagles' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Milano saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Karley Hairston, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1. That stolen base was Hairston's first of the season.

Milano's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for McGregor, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-1.

Looking ahead, Milano will be playing at home against Iola at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for McGregor, they will take on Anderson-Shiro in a tournament on Saturday. McGregor's pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so Anderson-Shiro's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
