Basketball Recap: Newfane Sets Scoring Season-High Against Barker

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Newfane). Everything went their way against the Barker Bulldogs on Friday as the Newfane Panthers made off with a 60-37 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Panthers have posted since February 9, 2024.

Mac Capen continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. He has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Camlo Flowers, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 15 points.

Newfane was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Newfane's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-8. As for Barker, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

When Newfane and Barker next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Newfane will square off against Wilson and their four-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Barker will try to stop Albion's three-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
