Baseball Recap: Saddleback Roadrunners vs. Orange Panthers
Saddleback extended their losing streak to eight on Tuesday, dropping them down to 3-18. They came up short against the Orange Panthers, falling 19-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-1 back in March.
Saddleback saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bailey Wright, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
As for Orange, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-9. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by six runs or more this season.
On Orange's side, Jason Huerta looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, Huerta posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025.
At the plate, Orange got a massive performance out of Abraham Ontiveros, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Ontiveros is becoming a predictor of the Panthers' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 8-9 when he doesn't). Ethan Giraldo also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
While Saddleback had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
