Basketball Recap: Truman Mustangs vs. Wings Academy Wings
Truman lost against Wings Academy back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Truman Mustangs took a 52-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wings Academy Wings. The matchup marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wings Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Fabian Jimbo, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 18 rebounds. Jimbo has been hot recently, having posted 14 or more rebounds the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Deshawn Carnegie Jr, who went 7 of 15 en route to 18 points and six rebounds.
Truman's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Wings Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.
Truman will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Albany at 3:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025. Wings Academy and Bay Shore will round out the year against one another at at 2:00 p.m. on December 28th. Wings Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.6 points per game this season.
