Softball Game Preview: Forbush Falcons vs. Lakeview Bulldogs

The Forbush Falcons will take on the Lakeview Bulldogs at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday. Forbush's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Lakeview's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Forbush will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Millville on Friday. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 13-7 margin over the Thunderbolts. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Bulldogs on Monday. Lakeview won by a run and slipped past Poland Seminary 16-15. The victory continues a trend for Lakeview in their matchups with Poland Seminary: they've now won four in a row.

Isabella Isenberg made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed 2.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Isenberg was even better at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, Mackenzie Stowe and Kennedy Bartlett did most of the damage at the plate: Stowe went 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Bartlett went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs and two RBI. That's the most runs Bartlett has posted since back in April of 2024. Hallie Capan was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Forbush's record now sits at 14-6. As for Lakeview, their record is now 6-2.
