Baseball Recap: Bridgeport Baptist Academy Takes a Loss

Bridgeport Baptist Academy extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-4 in the process. They came up short against the Bloomfield Christian School Defenders, falling 10-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Broncos of the 8-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in June of 2023.

As for Bloomfield Christian School, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-3. The result was nothing new for the Defenders, who have now won 12 games by six runs or more so far this season.

For Bloomfield Christian School's part, Evan Partyka made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Partyka has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Bloomfield Christian School got a massive performance out of Jordan Antone, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Antone has posted since back in April. Charles Busch was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

As of now, neither Bridgeport Baptist Academy nor Bloomfield Christian School have any future games scheduled.
