Basketball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Mulberry Grove's Fifth in Last Six Outings

Mulberry Grove had won two straight home games and Jackson Icenogle did his part to make it three on Friday. The Mulberry Grove Aces claimed a resounding 73-33 win over the Ramsey Rams thanks to Icenogle, who went 6-for-11 en route to 20 points along with eight boards and three blocks. He has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more points the last ten times he's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Sugg, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds. What's more, he posted five steals, the most he's had since back in December of 2024.

Mulberry Grove is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-17 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.2 points over those games. Ramsey is on an 18-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-25.

Coming up, Mulberry Grove will take on North Clay/Clay City at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. North Clay/Clay City will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Mulberry Grove surely won't give up without a fight. Ramsey does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
