Recap: Avery County Vikings vs. Madison Patriots
The Avery County Vikings won the last time they faced the Madison Patriots, and things went their way on Friday too. Avery County took down Madison 63-44.
Maddy Barrett was the offensive standout of the matchup as she scored 20 points along with eight steals and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Zoie Mcclarrin, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds.
Avery County's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-7. As for Madison, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Avery County and Owen will face off at 5:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Owen is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Madison, they will head out on the road to challenge Mountain Heritage at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Mountain Heritage's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight games.
