Football Game Preview: Cummings Cavaliers vs. Southern Alamance Patriots + Official Tickets

Cummings hasn't had much luck against Southern Alamance recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Cavaliers will be playing at home against the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Cummings has given up an average of 36.4 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 34-6, which was the final score in Cummings' tilt against Western Alamance on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Cavaliers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 311th, while the Warriors are ranked 107th).

Meanwhile, Southern Alamance got the win against Person on Friday by a conclusive 42-18. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won four matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.

Southern Alamance found their leader in sophomore Sincere Thompson, who rushed for 172 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. Thompson has become a key player for the Patriots: the team is undefeated when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 1-3 otherwise. Jacob Alexander was another key player, rushing for 92 yards and one TD on only ten carries.

Southern Alamance is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.3 points over those games. As for Cummings, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Cummings took a serious blow against Southern Alamance in their previous meeting back in September of 2022, falling 58-28. Thankfully for the Cavaliers, Logan Foust (who rushed for 137 yards and a pair of scores on only 15 carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
