Baseball Game Preview: Galena Park Yellowjackets vs. Westbury Huskies

For the second straight game, Galena Park will face off against Westbury. The Yellowjackets will host the Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Galena Park has 19 straight victories, Westbury has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Galena Park's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Westbury 8-0. Considering the Yellowjackets have won 12 matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Hector Arrieta made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base.

In other batting news, Jesus Resendez was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Miguel Daniel was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Galena Park pushed their record up to 19-0 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Westbury, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10-1.
