Football Recap: Amari Worthy and Julius Afrifa-Irving Pace Bishop Timon-St. Jude Defense

It was a proper cat-fight when Bishop Timon-St. Jude faced off against Honeoye Falls-Lima on Friday. The Tigers received a blow as they fell 28-14 to the Cougars.

Although Bishop Timon-St. Jude took the loss, they still got scores from Christian Fulgham and Julius Afrifa-Irving.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed eight in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Afrifa-Irving, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Bishop Timon-St. Jude didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Amari Worthy and Afrifa-Irving.

Bishop Timon-St. Jude dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Honeoye Falls-Lima, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop Timon-St. Jude will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Canisius at 2:00 p.m. on October 4. As for Honeoye Falls-Lima, they will head out to square off against Eastridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
