Volleyball Game Preview: Imperial Tigers vs. Central Spartans

Imperial is 1-7 against Central since March of 2023 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Tigers will look to defend their home court against the Spartans at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Imperial is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 14th straight game on Tuesday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Southwest EC.

While Imperial ultimately came up short, they really made Southwest EC work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 29-27, 16-25, 25-19, 25-14.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Central and Calexico meet (two straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Spartans came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-20, 25-21, 25-15.

Imperial's loss dropped their record down to 7-21. As for Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-13.
