Two dominant guards in Nia Anderson and Melody Painter are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Columbia Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Landmark Christian War Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

After a string of three wins, Columbia's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They suffered a rough 54-31 loss at the hands of Callaway. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Columbia has suffered yet this season.

Landmark Christian proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by 41) but on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past McNair 46-44. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Landmark Christian has posted yet this season.

Painter and Nikolette Soden were among the main playmakers for Landmark Christian as the former scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and two steals and the latter scored 14 points along with five steals. Painter has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Morgan, who scored five points along with four steals.

Columbia's defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-5. As for Landmark Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.

Columbia strolled past Landmark Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 51-33. Will Columbia repeat their success, or does Landmark Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
