Preview: San Fernando Valley Academy Huskies vs. Highland Hall Hawks

The San Fernando Valley Academy Huskies will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Highland Hall Hawks at 5:30 p.m. on January 25th. San Fernando Valley Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Highland Hall will be coming in after a loss.

San Fernando Valley Academy proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 25) but on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 44-42 victory over Summit View.

San Fernando Valley Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Xzavier Herrera led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Herrera scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Jacob Corral, who scored ten points along with four steals.

Meanwhile, Highland Hall came up short against Summit View on Thursday and fell 48-40.

San Fernando Valley Academy pushed their record up to 6-1 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for Highland Hall, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Everything came up roses for San Fernando Valley Academy against Highland Hall in their previous meeting on January 9th as the squad secured a 50-22 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for San Fernando Valley Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
