Baseball Recap: Fluvanna County Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

Fluvanna County won against Albemarle on Tuesday with four runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Flying Flucos sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Western Albemarle Warriors. This was a revenge game for the Flying Flucos: when they faced off against the Warriors back in April, they had to take a 10-9 loss.

Fluvanna County pushed their record up to 10-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Western Albemarle, they moved to 10-5 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Fluvanna County will square off against Powhatan at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Flying Flucos 4, the Indians 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Western Albemarle, they will challenge Goochland at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
