Basketball Recap: Marine Leadership Academy Falls to Roosevelt in First Game of Season

Marine Leadership Academy had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a blow against the Roosevelt Rough Riders, falling 64-34. The Bulldogs' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row dating back to last season.

Roosevelt's victory ended a 14-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-4.

Marine Leadership Academy will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Uplift at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Uplift knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Marine Leadership Academy likes a good challenge. As for Roosevelt, they are taking a road trip to face off against Foreman at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Roosevelt has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
