The Elgin Comets will face off against the Ridgedale Rockets at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Elgin is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Crestline get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Madison Hill made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaylee Crist, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mallorie Hempy, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Elgin hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Crestline struck out eight times.
Meanwhile, Ridgedale got the win against Perry on Thursday by a conclusive 15-0. Considering the Rockets have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Elgin, Ridgedale also got a great game from a two-way player: Kenzie Delaney. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Delaney was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two doubles, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Jillian Slaughterbeck was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Brenda Scott was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.
Ridgedale is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Elgin, their win bumped their record up to 7-11.
