Basketball Recap: Mardela Wins Going Away Against North Dorchester

Mardela lost to North Dorchester back in February of 2020, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Mardela Warriors took down the North Dorchester Eagles 48-31.

Despite the defeat, North Dorchester saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Remdy Wongus dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds. Wongus has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Diamond Newbill, who posted 12 points.

Mardela's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for North Dorchester, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

Mardela wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 36-31 loss against Pocomoke on the 4th. As for North Dorchester, they have also already played their next matchup, a 69-4 defeat against Queen Anne's County on the 4th.
