Softball Recap: Kankakee Valley Has No Trouble Against Wheeler

Kankakee Valley barely beat Wheeler the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Kougars were the clear victors by a 15-6 margin over the Bearcats on Friday. Fans of the Kougars have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

The team relied heavily on Patience Cole, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Catalina Veach, who scored four runs while going 2-for-4.

Cole wasn't the only one making solid contact: Kankakee Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Kankakee Valley's record now sits at 3-0. As for Wheeler, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Coming up, Kankakee Valley will challenge Hanover Central at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Kougars surely won't give up without a fight. As for Wheeler, they will take on Illiana Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The game will give the Bearcats their first taste of in-conference action this season.
