Football Recap: Ephrata Tigers vs. East Valley Red Devils
The home team had come away the winner the last six times Ephrata and East Valley had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Tigers took a blow against the Red Devils on Saturday, falling 49-14. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 40-7 to the Red Devils when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
East Valley had a senior duo take command as Braden Albrecht rushed for 186 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry and Jaxon Berg threw for 281 yards and four TDs while completing 76.2% of his passes. Those four passing touchdowns set a new season-high mark for Berg. Another player making a difference was Greyson Stevens, who picked up 117 receiving yards and one score.
Ephrata's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for East Valley, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Coming up, Ephrata will venture away from home to take on Davis at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers are facing the Pirates at the right time seeing as the Pirates are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for East Valley, they will be playing at home against Othello at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Red Devils will need to watch out since the Huskies have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
