Baseball Recap: Warrenton Extends Home Winning Streak to 20

Warrenton waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Orchard Farm Eagles a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Warriors have won 13 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Carter Martin made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted over his last three matchups. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Colin Disilvester, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Mason Thompson, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Warrenton's win was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Orchard Farm, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-10.

Warrenton has already played their next contest (against Bowling Green), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Orchard Farm, they are taking a road trip to challenge Fort Zumwalt East at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
