Volleyball Recap: Long Reach Comes Up Short

If Long Reach was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Hammond last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lightning came up short against the Howard Lions on Monday, falling 3-0. The Lightning were not able to make up for their loss to the Lions from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-10, 25-13.

Meredith Brown paced Long Reach's offense, picking up eight kills. Brown got some help from Evalyn Ordonez and her seven assists.

Long Reach dropped their record down to 2-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Howard, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.

Coincidentally, Long Reach and Howard will both be playing Marriotts Ridge the next time they take the court. The Lions will host the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Lightning will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
