Basketball Recap: Rockford East Piles Up the Points Against Belvidere

Rockford East won the last time they faced Belvidere and things went their way on Friday too. The Rockford East E-Rabs simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Belvidere Bucs 71-37. The E-Rabs pushed the score to 59-29 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bucs had little chance of recovering from.

Rockford East's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brian Harper led the charge by putting up 13 points in addition to five assists and five boards. Harper has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Tarion McFadden-Leach, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 20 points.

Rockford East smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
