Softball Game Preview: Firebaugh Falcons vs. Centennial Apaches

Firebaugh has gone a perfect 3-0 against Centennial recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Falcons will venture away from home to take on the Apaches at 4:00 p.m. Firebaugh is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.

Firebaugh took a 14-run loss the last time they faced off against Bellflower, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Falcons narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Buccaneers 11-10. The victory was some much needed relief for the Falcons as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Camila Curumaco was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Alexis Galindo, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Meanwhile, Centennial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against Lawndale, falling 14-4.

The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 5-7. As for Centennial, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

Firebaugh took their victory against Centennial in their previous meeting back in March of 2018 by a conclusive 31-0 score. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Apaches have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
