Baseball Recap: Foothill Falcons vs. Green Valley Gators        
        
		
            
 On Monday, Foothill faced Green Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Foothill Falcons wound up on the wrong side of a  tough 15-5 walloping at the hands of the Green Valley Gators. Foothill's loss continues an unfortunate trend for the  squad, making it five in a row.
  Jakob Hanson was cooking despite his team's loss,   going 2-for-3 with a  home run and a  double.  Steven Alvarado was another key contributor,  going 1-for-2 with a  double and  an  RBI.
 Even though they lost, Foothill was hitting in the alleys and  finished the game with four  doubles. That's the most  doubles they've managed all season.
 On Green Valley's side, they got a great performance from  Karson Tait as he  pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits.
 At the plate,  Caden Kirby was a standout: he scored two  runs while  getting on base  in five of his six plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of  Braden Chun, who  scored two  runs while going 3-for-4.
 Foothill's defeat dropped their record down to 16-10-1. As for Green Valley, the  win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-13.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Foothill will stay at home for another  game and welcome Bishop Gorman at 3:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Green Valley will take on Palo Verde at 3:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Palo Verde is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 9.3  runs per game  this season.
