Preview: Stryker Panthers vs. Ayersville Pilots
Stryker has been on the road for three straight, but on Saturday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Ayersville Pilots at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Stryker earned a 37-28 win over Hilltop.
Meanwhile, Ayersville waltzed into their contest on Thursday with four straight wins but they left with five. They strolled past Edgerton with points to spare, taking the game 52-38. Given Ayersville's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while Edgerton is ranked 451st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ayersville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ally Schindler, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Schindler has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kendra Waldron, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
The victory got Stryker back to even at 9-9. As for Ayersville, their victory bumped their record up to 18-1.
