Volleyball Recap: Mt. Vernon's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Mt. Vernon walked away with it. They blew past the Tree of Life Christian Trojans 3-0 on Tuesday. The victory was nothing new for the Yellowjackets as they're now sitting on six straight.

The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-3, 25-17.

Leading Mt. Vernon to victory were Isaiah Campbell and Evan Komitau. Campbell had 22 assists and six digs, while Komitau had four digs and two aces. Campbell is crushing it when it comes to assists: he's posted at least 12 every time he's taken the court this season. Jace Daubenmier also deserves some recognition as he had his first kill of the season.

Mt. Vernon couldn't miss and finished the game having scored on 42.9% of their attack attempts. That's the best hitting percentage they've posted all season.

Mt. Vernon's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-10. As for Tree of Life Christian, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-10 record.

Mt. Vernon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Chillicothe on the 15th. Tree of Life Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
