Preview: Desert Mirage RAMS vs. Yucca Valley Trojans
Desert Mirage is 1-7 against Yucca Valley since October of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Desert Mirage RAMS will look to defend their home field against the Yucca Valley Trojans at 7:00 p.m.
Last Friday, Desert Mirage took a serious blow against Desert Hot Springs, falling 48-17. Desert Mirage was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jesus Rivas, who rushed for 101 yards.
Meanwhile, Yucca Valley had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They came out on top against Indio by a score of 27-14.
Myles Harper continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 145 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries, while also picking up 47 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Stephon Rogers, who rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
With Desert Mirage's defeat and Yucca Valley's win, both teams now sport identical 5-3 records.
Desert Mirage was dealt a bruising 70-7 loss at the hands of Yucca Valley in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Will Desert Mirage have more luck at home instead of on the road?
