Soccer Recap: Northampton Takes a Loss

If Northampton was riding high fresh off their 5-2 takedown of Mathews on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Yellowjackets lost 10-0 to the Kempsville Chiefs on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Northampton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 258th, while Kempsville are ranked 29th).

Northampton's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Kempsville, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1-1.

Northampton has already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Nandua on the 28th. As for Kempsville, they will face off against Green Run at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kempsville will be up against Green Run's rather soft defense (which has allowed 6.14 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
