Basketball Game Preview: Chewelah Cougars vs. Northwest Christian School Crusaders

Chewelah is 0-10 against Northwest Christian School since December of 2014 but things could change on Saturday. Both will face off at 4:30 p.m. without much rest having both just played.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 57-9, which was the final score in Chewelah's tilt against Colville on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 311th, while the Crimson Hawks are ranked 111th).

Meanwhile, Northwest Christian School didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna on Friday, but they still walked away with a 47-41 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Crusaders.

Northwest Christian School's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Chewelah, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.

Chewelah suffered a grim 53-30 defeat to Northwest Christian School in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Chewelah avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
