Basketball Game Preview: Peotone Blue Devils vs. Streator Bulldogs

Peotone is 10-0 against Streator since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Peotone Blue Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Streator Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Streator took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Peotone, who comes in off a win.

Peotone took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past Newark 49-8. That 41 point margin sets a new team best for the Blue Devils this season.

Peotone found their leader in sophomore Olivia Moe, who went 6 of 12 on her way to 18 points and seven steals. Those 18 points gave Moe a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Orzel, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, Streator was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were beaten by LaSalle-Peru 46-19. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 657th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 292nd).

Peotone will have to contain Leah Krohe as she made an impact in Streator's last game. She almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 boards.

The win snapped Peotone's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-18 record. As for Streator, their loss dropped their record down to 1-23.

Peotone strolled past Streator when the teams last played on January 7th by a score of 38-24. Does Peotone have another victory up their sleeve, or will Streator turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
