Preview: Bellmont Braves vs. Leo Lions
The Bellmont Braves will be playing at home against the Leo Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Bellmont will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
Even though Bellmont has not done well against Huntington North recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Bellmont walked away with a 62-50 victory over Huntington North. Given Bellmont's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 79th, while Huntington North is ranked 241st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Leo, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 69-54 loss to East Noble on Saturday.
Bellmont is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Leo, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season.
Bellmont didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Leo in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 80-75 victory. Will Bellmont repeat their success, or does Leo have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
