Volleyball Recap: Harmony Science Academy Falls Despite Big Games from Frida Escobedo and Leilani Magalde

Harmony Science Academy lost against Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Harmony Science Academy fell just short of Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy by a score of 3-2. Harmony Science Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Harmony Science Academy took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-12, 23-25, 23-25, 25-12, 15-12.

Despite the defeat, Harmony Science Academy had strong showings from Leilani Magalde, who had 18 digs, and Frida Escobedo, who had 13 assists and three digs.

Bellissa Marquez was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 21 digs. Those 21 digs gave her a new career-high.

Harmony Science Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-19-1. As for Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-12 record this season.

Harmony Science Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Irvin on the 24th. As for Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Bowie on the 24th.
