Brighton is a perfect 6-0 against Millington Central since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Cardinals will look to defend their home field against the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. Brighton is coming into the match hot, having won their last nine games.

While Brighton's victory against Covington wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cardinals had just enough and edged out the Chargers 8-7. Kaitlyn Chapman was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. Aeryl Potter was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Millington Central fell victim to Munford and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Cougars, falling 10-0. The Trojans have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Brighton's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Millington Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12-1.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Brighton hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Millington Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
