Soccer Game Preview: Greenwood Christian vs. Abbeville

The Greenwood Christian Hawks will square off against the Abbeville Panthers at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Greenwood Christian will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Greenwood Christian barely beat Crescent the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Greenwood Christian was the clear victors by a 6-3 margin over Crescent on Monday. Considering the Hawks have won five contests by more than two goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Crescent with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Hampton Davis (2), Noah Vahjen (2), Brady Wilson, and Rylan Durbin.

Meanwhile, Abbeville managed to keep up with GREEN Upstate until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Abbeville lost 4-1 to GREEN Upstate. Having soared to a lofty 12 goals in the game before, the Panthers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Greenwood Christian's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those four matchups. As for Abbeville, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Everything went Greenwood Christian's way against Abbeville when the teams last played back in April of 2022, as Greenwood Christian made off with an 11-0 win. Will Greenwood Christian repeat their success, or does Abbeville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
