Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Smithville ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Loudonville 46-44. The win continues a trend for the Smithies in their matchups with the Redbirds: they've now won four in a row.

Rootstown's victory bumped their record up to 20-3. As for Smithville, their win bumped their record up to 14-10.

Rootstown didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Smithville when the teams last played two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 48-44 victory.
