Jesuit took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They took down the Bishop Verot Vikings 33-14. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 48-34 victory the Vikings walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Will Griffin had an outrageously good game as he threw for 301 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per attempt. That's the most passing yards he has posted since back in October of 2024. A healthy portion of Griffin's aerial production (90 yards to be exact) went to Kaleb Smith, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Bishop Verot's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Macrae Thompson, who rushed for 99 yards on only 13 carries, and also caught one TD. Thompson's longest rush was for an impressive 63 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Austan Cristiaan was another key player, throwing for 137 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Jesuit didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 37-3 win against Benjamin on the 29th. As for Bishop Verot, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 44-34 victory against True North Classical Academy on the 29th.
