Basketball Recap: Holdenville Wolverines vs. Konawa Tigers

A well-balanced attack led the Holdenville Wolverines over the Konawa Tigers in every quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Holdenville blew the Tigers out of the water with a 82-45 final score. Given Holdenville's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while the Tigers are ranked 388th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Holdenville to victory were Kase Sipes and Izaia King. Sipes scored 17 points, while King scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points King has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Seeley, who scored 12 points.

Holdenville is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Konawa, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-12.

Holdenville's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Lions at 7:00 a.m. on February 9th. As for Konawa, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Longhorns at 7:30 p.m.
