A Season-Best Performance from Garrett Ace Leads La Jolla Country Day over Classical Academy

On Thursday, La Jolla Country Day got the W thanks in part to Garrett Ace playing the best football he has all season. Ace rushed for 162 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.0 yards per carry, and also picked up 93 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He torched the secondary when he pulled down a catch that went for 80 yards.

For the season, Ace has caught 3 touchdowns while averaging 26.4 receiving yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he had one receiving touchdown.

Magnus Falkiewicz Turns in Season-Best Effort

On Friday, Santa Fe Christian got the W thanks in part to Magnus Falkiewicz playing the best football he has all season. Falkiewicz rushed for 96 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 66 yards.

The win (which was Santa Fe Christian's fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-1. Falkiewicz and Santa Fe Christian will stay at home for another week and welcome Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Pj Rogers' Rushing Yards a New Career-High

Santa Fe Christian was led to victory by Pj Rogers, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Rogers rushed for 109 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.

This year, Rogers has run in 2 touchdowns while averaging 46.7 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after seven games last season, he was only averaging 25.71 rushing yards per game.

Army-Navy had to settle for second on Friday, but Jacob Eastley sure wasn't going down easily. Despite the defeat, Eastley was still balling out as he picked up 118 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Army-Navy's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-2. They and Victory Christian Academy are set to duel on Friday.
