Franklin Academy won the last time they faced Research Triangle and things went their way on Friday too. The Franklin Academy Patriots claimed a resounding 65-37 win over the Research Triangle Raptors. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season.

Franklin Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sam Artz, who went 6 of 7 on his way to 14 points. Artz continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Aiden Henrie was another key player, going 5 for 8 en route to 15 points.

Research Triangle's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Sam Griffith, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds, and Darien Venable, who posted 13 points and five boards. What's more, Griffith also racked up three steals, the most he's had since back in November of 2024.

Franklin Academy's record is now 16-8. As for Research Triangle, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season.

Franklin Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-48 victory against Wake Prep Academy on the 11th. Research Triangle has also already played their next contest (against East Wake Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
