Volleyball Recap: Ava Quigley's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Beardstown over Triopia/Virginia

Beardstown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Triopia/Virginia Trojans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-12.

Beardstown lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ava Quigley, who had 14 digs.

Beardstown's defeat dropped their record down to 4-25. As for Triopia/Virginia, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-9 record this season.

Beardstown has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Lutheran on the 20th. As for Triopia/Virginia, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Athens on the 21st.
