Basketball Recap: Southwood Find Success

Southwood won the last time they faced North Miami, and Bryce Wilcox did his part to make sure it happened again. The Southwood Knights snuck past the North Miami Warriors with a 67-63 win on Saturday thanks in part to Wilcox, who dropped a double-double on 36 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Southwood's points.

Another player making a difference was Emery Liddick, who posted 12 points and five assists. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in assists.

The victory got Southwood back to even at 8-8. As for North Miami, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-10.

Southwood and North Miami could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. Southwood will take on Maconaquah at 7:30 p.m. on Friday down 188 places (295 vs. 107). Similarly, North Miami (ranked 371st) will meet Tippecanoe Valley (ranked 95th) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
