Basketball Game Preview: Cooper Cougars vs. Abilene Eagles

The Cooper Cougars are taking a road trip to face off against the Abilene Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cooper has now lost ten straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 11.

On Friday, Cooper took a blow against Wylie, falling 71-12. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1192nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 41st).

Meanwhile, Abilene had to suffer through a 52-19 loss at the hands of Memorial.

Cooper's loss dropped their record down to 3-22. As for Abilene, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-21.

Cooper might still be hurting after the 64-39 loss they got from Abilene in their previous meeting back in January of 2025. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
