Preview: Lanesville Eagles vs. Eastern Musketeers
Lanesville is 3-0 against Eastern since January of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Lanesville Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Eastern Musketeers at 1:30 p.m. Lanesville is looking to tack on another W to their 15-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Lanesville stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 73-39 win over Trinity Lutheran on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Lanesville has posted since November 30, 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lanesville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hylton Brumley, who scored 21 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brumley has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ava Kerr, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Eastern's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They were dealt a 58-29 loss at the hands of Charlestown. While losing is never fun, Eastern can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 319th, while Charlestown is ranked 76th).
Lanesville's victory bumped their record up to 18-1. As for Eastern, their loss dropped their record down to 1-16.
Everything came up roses for Lanesville against Eastern in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 50-20 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lanesville since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
