Hickory Ridge has gone 8-2 against Mooresville recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Hickory Ridge Ragin' Bulls will venture away from home to take on the Mooresville Blue Devils at 6:30 p.m. Mooresville took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Hickory Ridge, who comes in off a win.

Hickory Ridge's hitters will try to repeat the strong performance they gave on Wednesday, when they got past Carson's usually-dominant pitching crew. Hickory Ridge sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 13-11 win over Carson. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Ragin' Bulls have posted against the Cougars since May 6, 2015.

Meanwhile, Mooresville didn't have quite enough to beat West Iredell on Thursday and fell 10-9. That's two games in a row now that the Blue Devils have lost by just one run.

Luke Modrak was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. He is becoming a predictor of Mooresville's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-2 (and 1-3 when he doesn't). Cole Harvey was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

The win made it two in a row for Hickory Ridge and bumps their season record up to 7-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Mooresville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

Hickory Ridge came out on top in a nail-biter against Mooresville in their previous meeting on Tuesday, sneaking past 6-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hickory Ridge since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
