Football Preview: South Plainfield Tigers vs. Spotswood Chargers
The South Plainfield Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Spotswood Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. South Plainfield has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 118 points over their last three games.
South Plainfield is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Kennedy Memorial 42-14. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
South Plainfield can attribute much of their success to Christian Brown, who rushed for 81 yards and one score on only 11 carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: South Plainfield was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 340 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 200 rushing yards in five consecutive matchups.

South Plainfield didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. Dominic Massaro picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. He also punched in four rushing touchdowns, which is notable because South Plainfield is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-4 otherwise. Another thorn in Kennedy Memorial's side was Aiden Noblecilla,, who picked up four sacks and made 14 total tackles (10.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Spotswood beat Roselle Park 26-16 on Friday.
South Plainfield now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Spotswood, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.
