Softball Preview: Westmont Warriors vs. Branham Bruins

The Westmont Warriors will head out on the road to take on the Branham Bruins at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Westmont is no doubt hoping to put an end to a nine-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.

Westmont lost 12-5 to Leigh on Wednesday.

Regan Steele was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, Aarushi Kulkarni and Maddie Crowley did some serious damage despite the final result: Kulkarni scored two runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances, while Crowley scored a run while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Eleanor Rodhouse, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Branham's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 6-3 to Gilroy.

Ella Moser made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Westmont's record is now 4-19. As for Branham, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-8.
